The Nutritional Autonomy For All strategy has been set up to end-up the constant emergency response against malnutrition. To successfully achieve this goal, the PlumpyField^® network and its members are continuously trying to forecast and to develop nutritional solutions in accordance with the specificities of each country.

In order to be able to offer nutritional solutions to children and other vulnerable groups before their situations worsens and they enter the more serious stages of malnutrition, the PlumpyField network has extended its range to include preventive products.

The permanent research lead by the community allows today to supply new solutions to avoid the dramatic stage of severe acute malnutrition. Indeed, by supplying supplementary foods on a yearly basis, the network eradicates the peak of the crisis.

Unfortunately, in the aim to reach the nutritional autonomy for each concerned country, to develop new solution is definitely not enough !

The introduction of the local manufacture of Plumpy^® range products improves the response to nutritional emergencies, makes it easier to tackle chronic malnutrition outside emergency periods, boosts local economies – including raw material production sectors – and fosters the incorporation of ready-to-use nutritional supplements in national nutrition strategies. The local production strategy of Plumpy^® range products tries to settle long-term agri-food industry. The objective is to build a bridge between emergency and development.
